Summer Workshops 2009

AGES 4-6 WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

We are thrilled to offer our first workshop for students ages four through 6 years old! This workshop is from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and is offered each week from 6/15/09 through 8/10/09. Each day, 4-6 year old students will have the opportunity to participate in three hours of fun, educational, and creative learning. Projects will be geared to the attention span of this age group with short breaks in between projects.
The child's favorite characters from books, movies, and television will be drawn, painted, and/or sculpted in a variety of mediums such as colored pencils, markers, and watercolors. This workshop will give younger students an opportunity to learn basic drawing and painting techniques, as well as learning rudimentary paper and clay sculpture skills. Students will go away excited to see story and cartoon characters come to life by their own hands!

All other workshops are for ages 7 and older. Students turning 7 during the summer may enroll in the 4-6 year old workshops only. Because of the challenging curriculum in the other workshops, we are unable to make exceptions to this policy.

Our summer workshops are one week long each, Monday through Friday. We try to keep the summer workshop curriculum different from our ongoing program so that both current students and new students are able to enjoy them! There is a morning workshop from 8:30-11:30am, and an afternoon workshop from 12:00-3:00pm. Students ages 7 and up can also sign up for a full day and attend both workshops - there will be a break for lunch (please provide snacks and lunch for your student each day).

Our ongoing program classes will continue throughout the summer, however, all classes Monday through Friday before 3:30 will be canceled during workshops.
